Fluid Simulation

This program simulates particles moving inside a closed box where they can effect eachother only within a certain range the force of this effect is more pronounced the closer the particles are to eachother, you can see the total effect in an area by looking at the colour of the pixels at that point. Red means that the "pressure" is greater than the average, and blue means the "pressure" is less than the average. It is also black if there are no particles effecting that region at all. You can reduce the area of effect and increase the gravity to more closely simulate liquids as well as decrease the gravity and increase the area of effect to more closely simulate gasses.

Display Particles (turns on or off the visibility of the particles)

Display Pressure (turns on or off the visibility of the pressure gradient)

Pressure Display Type
0: displays red highlight for points above the average pressure and blue highlight for points below the average pressure. Displays black if there are no particles nearby as well as for the average pressure
1: displays a gradient of red to blue based on an aboslute pressure scale.
Red at max pressure and blue at 0 pressure.

Pressure Constant (scales the force associated with particle proximity) (0.01 to 10)

Viscosity (increases the velocity smoothing of nearby particles) (0 to 10)

X (10 to 150) (Size of the video to generate in pixels)

Y (10 to 150) (Size of the video to generate in pixels)

Frames (50 to 500) video runs at 50fps:

Physics Frames Per Graphic Frame (number of computational frames per visual frame) (1 to 10):

Time Step (dt) (amount of time between each frame) (0.0001 to 0.1)

Effect Radius (how far away the particles can be before they stop interacting) (1 to min(X,Y))

Gravity: x (force of gravity on the particles in the horizontal direction) (-1000 to 1000)

Gravity: y (force of gravity on the particles in the vertical direction) (-1000 to 1000)

Number of Particles (1 to 5000)

The following inputs specify a minimum and maximum value for the particles, each particle will have a random value between those associated with it

Minimum Mass (-10 to Maximum Mass)

Maximum Mass (Minimum Mass to 10)

Minimum X position (3 to Maximum x position)

Maximum X position (Minimum x position to image size x - 3)

Minimum Y position (3 to Maximum y position)

Maximum Y position (Minimum y position to image size y - 3)

Minimum Velocity in X direction (-50 to Max velocity in X direction)

Maximum Velocity in X direction (Min velocity in X direction to 50)

Minimum Velocity in Y direction (-50 to Max velocity in Y direction)

Maximum Velocity in Y direction (Min velocity in Y direction to 50)
